The Brinčev rustic mill

For any baked goods you need flour, and you find the best flour at the millers. The grueling milling process is made easier with the power of the river. And that’s only the first step to the fragrant smell, coming from the oven. Brinčev rustic mill has been operational since around the year 1800 and is still running today. Don’t forget to pick up a packet of flour for dinner.

At the confluence of the rural and urban environment by Savinja you will learn, why it is called the Valley of green gold. You will learn about the work of hop growers and they’ll provide you with a quick review on the development of modern techniques for preparing so called craft beers. Our geologically protected hops smells differently. After some beer tasting don’t forget to get a pinch of dried hops for your dinner.

The Podpečan farm

At the Podpečan farm you will learn, how tasty dairy products are made. They will show you their pastures, the milking process and everyday chores on the farm. Before we leave they will spoil your taste buds by giving you a taste of some of their products.

Mansion and park of Novo Celje

A stroll through one of the most beautiful, still preserved baroque parks is breathtaking. Move into the baroque period and feel the life in the park next to the heritage protected mansion of Novo Celje. Stop by the herbal garden by our restaurant, located in the manor house of the mansion and take a leaf or two of fresh herbs for the perfect taste of your culinary masterpiece.

Robanov kot

You will get to know a farm in the Savinja valley and their way of life, while getting acquainted with the locals and their food preparation customs. They will serve you the geographically protected cured meat savinjski želodec that is still cured in wooden grainary houses in the pre-alpine climate.

Logarski kot

At this alpine dairy farm you’ll receive a traditional bindle with all the necessary instructions about your journey. You will head to the spring of the river Savinja, waterfall Rinka, and scoop up some spring water - you’ll need it at dinner. But first, a hearty farmer’s breakfast.

Gradišnik farm

On the original 19th century farm you will meet a surreal heritage - hunting. You will stand by a lane and use a bow to try and hunt life-size 3D models of wild animals that live by Savinja.

How to catch a fish? With a rali hook or with a net? Which fish live in the Savinja river? Find our for yourselves at the fish farm, surrounded by nature and taste their home made fish tartar.
